Three Mangoes For Hemingway: A Road Trip Novel

Three years ago I sat down to write about a grandfather who believed a story mattered more than the facts behind it. His name is Juan. He is Cuban, stubborn, and carrying a secret he has kept for sixty years.

When he asks his two adult grandsons to drive him from New Jersey to Key West to plant three mango seedlings in the garden of Hemingway’s house, neither grandson is prepared for what the trip is actually about.

I am a professor and a writer. My academic life is in data science. My writing life is in story. This book lives entirely in the second world, and it is the most personal thing I have made. Three Mangoes for Hemingway drops on Amazon this Thursday.
