For years now, I’ve shared daily writing inspiration with you each morning at 6:00 AM. These prompts, quotes, and reflections have been my way of nurturing not just your writing practice, but my own. Writing is both solitary and communal, and I’ve found that by encouraging your daily commitment to the craft, I’ve strengthened my own resolve to show up at the page consistently.
Each morning when I curate a writing prompt or share wisdom from established authors, I’m reminded that writing is a practice requiring both discipline and vulnerability. We write not knowing if our words will find their intended readers, but trusting that the act of writing itself transforms us and, hopefully, those who encounter our work.
This daily ritual of sharing inspiration has been preparation for something I’m now ready to announce: I’ve embraced the journey of independent publishing. My literary novella, Searching for Margarito Temprana: A Barcelona Novella of Scent and Stone, was self-published on September 1st. Taking complete creative control of my work has been both empowering and fulfilling. More importantly, I’d love your help in finding thoughtful readers who might connect with this work.
This atmospheric story follows Marina through Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter on a three-day search for a vanished perfume that becomes a journey of unexpected discovery. The book embodies everything I’ve tried to share with you through our daily practice: attention to sensory detail, trust in the reader’s intelligence, and the understanding that the most profound searches are often the ones we never planned to make. It explores themes of legacy, memory, and the delicate balance between preserving the past and embracing transformation.
As part of my independent publishing journey, I’m now seeking thoughtful readers for review consideration through BookSprout. If you enjoy literary fiction with rich European settings and atmospheric storytelling, I’d be honored if you’d consider requesting a review copy here. Only 25 copies are available for this campaign.
But here’s what won’t change: our daily 6:00 AM appointment. Every morning, I’ll continue sharing the prompts, quotes, and reflections that keep us both committed to the craft. Because whether we’re aspiring writers or independently published authors, the practice remains the same. We show up, we write, we trust the process.
The transition from writing for ourselves to sharing our work with readers is profound, but it doesn’t diminish our need for daily inspiration and commitment to craft. If anything, it deepens it. Thank you for being part of this journey with me, and for allowing me to be part of yours.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled inspiration. Tomorrow at 6:00 AM, we continue.
